My ustairs neighbor, Marc Jondall, former performer with the Pickle Family Circus, gave me these comments as we quipped about clown and zen whilst in the midst of cleaning off construction dust on big sheets of plastic at the artist’s collective we live in, Developing Environments. Here is a Clown Zen koan, and a Zen and a Taoist Clown saying according to Marc:

What’s the sound of one clown laughing?

To the clown, the present is to be present.

The clown that can be named, is not a true clown.
